Parker Lake is a 3.8 mile hike near June Lake in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. It climbs along the flowing creek through beautiful Jeffrey Pine and aspen forests to a serene lake reflecting steep moraines and rugged peaks.
The Morgan Pass and Little Lakes Valley trail begins at the end of the road in Rock Creek at an elevation of 10,250 at Mosquito flat. It is in the John Muir wilderness and the highest trailhead in California! The whole basin is called Little Lakes Valley. The trail climbs 1000 feet through pinyon,Jeffrey pine, birch, cottonwood, and aspen trees past a series of lakes and streams. We stopped for a picnic at upper Gem Lake and soaked our feet under Bear Creek Spire and Mount Morgan.
